I’m not the best writer but I’ve never had serious writer’s block because of these strategies. It’s a secret so don’t tell anyone.
1. I don’t dive straight into the writing piece. Make a plan/outline of what you’re trying to tell the reader. Going into a piece without a plan will make the piece incoherent. Even if you have a lot of good ideas it serves no purpose if the reader is confused while reading the piece.
2. Find a way to make writing something that isn’t a chore. I like to listen to music. I have a friend that treats herself to chocolate while writing. Find what works for you.
3. Take breaks after a certain amount of words. NO TIME LIMITS. Having a word count limit in my opinion is more efficient. Sometimes you finish the word count quickly and more breaks allow for more flow of ideas.
